FACTORS AFFECTING THE INTEREST IN PILGRIMAGE IN THE TOMB OF SUNAN GIRI IN GRESIK DISTRICT

Abstract

The high interest in tourist tourism every year makes various parties provide various choices for traveling. Traveling at this time is a need that must be fulfilled in order to bring up a new spirit. One type of tour that can attract a large number of tourists is a religious tourism on a pilgrimage to the tomb of Sunan Giri. Sunan Giri religious tourism in Gresik district is one of the religious tourisms which is widely sought after by the public at large. Therefore, in this study, we will identify any factors that influence the interest in pilgrimage in Sunan Giri. In this study data was obtained by interview survey method directly using a questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. The object in this study was visitors of the tomb of sunan Giri. Data obtained were processed by using SPSS tools. The respondents in this study were 53.1% of men and 46.9% of the population with the age of the majority of respondents 31 - 40 years old at 31.2%. The results of this study indicated that the level of religiosity of a person influences the interest in pilgrimage to the tomb of Sunan Giri. The higher the religiosity level a person has, the higher the interest in pilgrimage in the tomb of Sunan Giri.
