AFFECTIVE COMMITMENT: AN OVERVIEW OF JOB SATISFACTION, LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT

Abstract

Higher education entails qualified human resources as a driving force to attain its goals; and one of the resources are lecturers. Organizational commitment is also essential to maintain a higher education’s persistence. This research aimed to analyze the effect of job satisfaction, leadership, and organizational support on the lecturers’ affective commitment in STMIK Tidore Mandiri. The research population were 33 lecturers. Saturated sampling was used to consider all members of population as samples. The data collection technique was questionnaire. The statistical analysis to test the hypothesis was multiple linear regression. While testing the hypothesis applied t test. As the results, this research demonstrated that the variation of changes in affective commitment was influenced by job satisfaction, leadership, and organizational support (64.3%). While the remaining of 37.3% was influenced by other variables that were not investigated. Therefore, the results indicated the significant effects of variables of job satisfaction, leadership, and organizational support on affective commitment.
