https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/478

This research aims to analyze the factors causing the Degree of Fiscal Decentralization Ratio to remain at an adequate level, the Independence Ratio to be relatively high, the Regional Budget Revenue Effectiveness Ratio to be high, and the Regional Financial Efficiency Ratio to also be high. Additionally, the study seeks to improve the financial performance of the Riau Islands Provincial Government based on these ratios. This field research uses a quantitative descriptive approach, collecting data from the Riau Islands Provincial Financial and Asset Management Agency’s Budget Realization Report with a saturated sampling technique. The results show that the Degree of Decentralization Ratio remains within sufficient criteria, the Independence Ratio is at a medium level, the Regional Budget Revenue Effectiveness Ratio is already very effective, while the Regional Financial Efficiency Ratio is inefficient. To improve financial performance concerning the Independence Ratio, it is recommended to provide public education on natural resource management. For the Decentralization Ratio, efforts are needed to develop trade and manufacturing sectors and optimize existing Regional Budget Revenues. To enhance the Effectiveness Ratio, it is important to continue optimizing regional income utilization, and for the Efficiency Ratio, preparing regional workers according to their fields is essential to reduce the relatively high regional expenditures.
Sri Mulyati, Nur Fadjrih Asyik

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/480

Entering the era of competitive globalization, universities are required to improve their performance in order to produce quality and highly competitive graduates. This study aims to examine the influence of Visionary Leadership and Talent Management on Higher Education Performance, with Organizational Learning as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, data was collected through a questionnaire from leaders and heads of decision-making sections at the University of Muhammadiyah in East Java totaling 100 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SMART PLS software. The findings show that Visionary Leadership has a significant positive effect on Higher Education Performance, but not significantly on Organizational Learning. On the contrary, Talent Management shows a significant influence both directly on Higher Education Performance and through Organizational Learning. The results of this study show that effective talent management strategies play an important role in improving university performance, both directly and through improving organizational learning. Although Visionary Leadership has a significant direct influence on performance, its influence through organizational learning is not significant in the context of this study. The implications of this study emphasize the need for universities to focus on talent development and retention and create a strong learning culture to achieve higher performance.
Suyitno, Suwitho

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/481

This study addresses a significant research gap in the classification and evaluation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the tourism industry in East Java, specifically focusing on their marketing performance. The primary objective is to categorize these SMEs based on their marketing effectiveness, a critical factor for their competitiveness in the tourism sector. To achieve this, the research employs cluster analysis, utilizing Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering techniques. The optimal clustering method was determined using the cophenetic correlation coefficient and cluster validation indices. Data for the analysis were collected through questionnaires, with a sample comprising 30 tourism SMEs across 11 regions in East Java, with responses from three employees per SME. The findings revealed two distinct clusters: SMEs with fairly good marketing performance and those with good marketing performance. The results suggest that while many SMEs in the tourism industry in East Java exhibit competitive marketing capabilities, there remains a subset that requires strategic improvements, particularly in spiritual marketing practices. This study's novelty lies in its approach to classifying tourism SMEs by marketing performance, providing a framework for targeted performance enhancement and industry strengthening in the region.
Adya Hermawati, Abimanyu Tuwuh Sembhodo, Nalini Mahastuti Panunjul

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/490

Business practices, especially in Muslim-majority countries, are more influenced by religious values. Therefore, CSR is less relevant or relatively limited to be implemented as an accountability mechanism, so it is advisable to consider religious values as an alternative approach to business ethics. In this context, adopting Sharia Compliance (SC) is seen as one of the dimensions of accountability, a form of business ethics implementation, and a manifestation or proxy of business ethics other than CSR. Therefore, based on the theory of business ethics, this study develops and tests a trivariate relationship model to explain how reputation and investment efficiency play a role in the relationship between SC and competitiveness and risk as proxied by the cost of equity capital. Using 825 observations, the estimation results indicate a partial mediation effect of reputation in the relationship between SC and risk (cost of equity capital). However, there is no mediation effect in the relationship between SC and competitiveness. Other estimation results indicate a partial mediation effect of investment efficiency in the relationship between SC and the cost of equity capital and competitiveness. This indicates that investment efficiency can provide additional totals in the relationship between SC and the cost of equity capital and competitiveness. However, the mediation effect of investment efficiency in the relationship between SC and SC competitiveness produces a total negative effect. Therefore, it can be said that the mediation of investment efficiency in the relationship between SC and competitiveness is an inconsistent or competitive mediation model. Overall, the partial mediation effect of reputation and investment efficiency indicates (1) there are other mediators (hidden mediators) in the relationship between SC and equity capital costs and competitiveness, (2) SC in reducing equity capital costs and producing competitiveness, among others, by building a good reputation and utilizing positive NPV investment opportunities.
Diana Hasyim, Kustoro Budiarta, Nurul Wardani Lubis, Edison Parulian

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/491

In an effort to reach a wider audience in the digital era, PT KAI Indonesia uses several social media with a different focus and style. Meanwhile, PT KAI's X (Twitter) account uses poetic style posts that are not related to railways. This difference in style seems to have an influence on the number of followers that each platform has managed to gather, where the PT. KAI’s X account has the highes followers than other social media accounts with 1,238,637 followers. Poetic sentences from the PT. KAI’s account always gets a higher response from netizens compared to informative posts with a stiff and standard language style. In fact, the posts are often re-uploaded by netizens on other personal social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, and receive reactions in the form of likes, shares and comments in quite significant numbers. For this reason, this research discusses PT KAI's social media branding strategy in the digital era with a focus on the poetic style tweets of PT KAI's X account @kai121. The method used is a qualitative-descriptive approach with content analysis techniques assisted by the Nvivo 12 application for analyzing computer-based qualitative data. This research analyzes content uploaded by the @kai121 account, during the period 1 December - 31 December 2023. The results show that poetic content related to love, sadness and life motivation received a high response from users. @kai121's tweet expresses feelings of sadness, hope and support in facing separation and life's journey. The tweet received a good response and shows consistency in the content uploaded.
Titik Tri Rahayu Cahyati, Prahastiwi Utari, Mahfud Anshori

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/492

This study aims to determine the effect of a healthy lifestyle and stress management on the academic performance of students at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan, using a quantitative method and purposive sampling technique on 45 respondents. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The results show that a healthy lifestyle does not have a significant effect on academic performance, while stress management has a significant effect. Simultaneously, a healthy lifestyle and stress management have a significant positive effect on academic performance. Based on these findings, students need to pay more attention to how they manage stress, particularly in coping with academic pressures. Educational institutions, such as UMLA, can provide support by offering stress management training programs, such as psychological counseling, motivational seminars, or workshops on relaxation techniques and mindfulness. In addition, institutions can promote healthy lifestyles by organizing regular sports activities and providing access to health facilities. Academic departments may also consider policies that promote a balance between academic demands and student well-being, such as offering flexible deadlines and personal guidance. Given that this study explains only 15.6% of the variability in academic performance, future research can explore other factors, such as learning motivation, teaching methods, social support, and the use of technology in the learning process.
Dwi Indriana Wati, Suyitno

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/494

This study uses bank size as a moderating variable to examine the effects of the Covid-19 crisis, Islamic social reporting, and the deployment of green banking on profitability in Indonesian Islamic commercial banks. In this work, panel data regression and moderated regression analysis are used as data analysis methods. Eleven Indonesian Islamic commercial banks that were registered with the OJK between 2016 and 2023 used as the study's sample. The study's findings show that Islamic commercial banks' profitability is significantly and favorably impacted by ISR. Profitability (ROE) is significantly impacted negatively by the Covid-19 situation, but not ROA. In the meantime, Islamic commercial banks' profitability is unaffected by green banking. The association between green banking and profitability may be moderated by the moderating variable of bank size. This research highlights how crucial risk management, responsibility, and openness are in a period of unpredictable economic times. In the context of Islamic banking, the impact of ISR procedures and reactions to financial crises like COVID-19 is quite significant. Islamic banks should see an improvement in their financial performance in the future by strengthening their ISR management and comprehending the implications of green banking.
Nur Aisyah Indarningsih, Rokhimah

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/503

This study aims to provide empirical evidence about the factors that affect investment decision-making in generation Z. The sampling method used is a non-probability purposive sampling method with generation Z students as a research sample. The age range included in the category of generation Z students is those aged 18-26 years. The analysis method used is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study show that financial literacy, attitude towards investment, and risk perception have a significant influence on investment decision-making among Generation Z students. Financial literacy and attitude towards investment have a positive effect, while risk perception has a negative effect on investment decisions. Although herding does not have a direct effect on investment decision-making, it does affect attitudes towards investment, which then influences investment decisions. This shows that the investment trends and investment decisions of others can shape students' investment attitudes, which ultimately influences their decision to invest. Technological advances and broad access to information, particularly through social media, seem to reduce the direct influence of herding but increase the role of influencers in shaping investment attitudes.
Mar’atus Zahro, Rika Rahayu, Okto Aditya Suryawirawan, Triyonowati

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/514

The concept of sustainable tourism has long been a focal point in tourism literature. However, the increasing complexity of global challenges, such as climate change and over-tourism, suggests that sustainability alone may no longer be sufficient. This is where regenerative tourism emerges, shifting the focus from merely minimizing harm to actively restoring and enhancing ecosystems, communities, and economies through tourism activities. This preliminary research aims to investigate the current state of regenerative tourism development in the context of Phuket, Thailand. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing semi-structured in-depth interviews with six key informants, including local community members, public and business representatives in tourism organizations, and local government officials. The iterative analysis of the interviews revealed several critical themes: waste management issues, insufficient enforcement of laws and regulations, the need for improved stakeholder collaboration, and growing environmental concerns. Additionally, the study highlighted various regenerative tourism practices currently being implemented. This preliminary study reveals four critical challenges in Phuket's regenerative tourism development: systemic waste management failures, insufficient law enforcement and regulations, lack of stakeholder collaboration, and escalating environmental concerns. The findings indicate that transitioning to regenerative tourism requires enhanced infrastructure and waste management systems, strengthened regulatory frameworks and enforcement mechanisms, improved stakeholder engagement processes, and comprehensive environmental monitoring systems. This research supports the need for a balanced approach to tourism development that considers environmental and social impacts alongside economic benefits. The implications of this research are significant, emphasizing the need for increased awareness and the optimization of collaboration among relevant tourism stakeholders to foster regenerative tourism in Phuket.
Weerachai Jitaksorn, Thanaporn Kornmanakit, Iyarin Ninsangkaha, Maneejan Thongsakul, Armaleena Hasup, Bhuritt Maswongssa, Chidchanok Anantamongkolkul

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/519

Performance, as a significant construct, reflects the desire to fulfill specific needs and serves as a fundamental component in the workplace, and is regarded as a multifaceted concept that encompasses various aspects, including processes, behavioral engagements, and outcomes, specifically related to job behavior. Task performance requires specific behaviors and advanced cognitive abilities, categorised into technical-administrative and leadership responsibilities. Job performance prompts behavior associated with achievement that includes evaluative aspects. Research highlights the significance of autonomous and intrinsic motivation, indicating that individuals guided by inherent values and behaviors achieve optimal performance. The present conceptual study aims to identify and understand the principal factors affecting employee performance and to illustrate the connections among these components through a literature review on performance. Evaluating employee performance is the most complex and hardest soft skill, requiring the incorporation of additional factors. The predicted finding and discussion of this study allows us to draw inferences about the elements affecting projected performance within an inclusive organisational environment, such as the Police Department, and to provide suggestions for future research. This conceptual piece concludes a conceptual framework regarding staff development, measurement methodologies, and the factors influencing staff performance assessment. Understanding these characteristics will facilitate the assessment of staff performance and clarify the factors that enable an employee to succeed in meeting an organization's objectives.
Hendro Wibowo, Rini Rahmawati, Hastin Umi Anisah

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/522

This study aims to analyze the speed of adjustment of capital structure in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) by considering key variables such as SoA, Distance, Profitability (RoA), Growth, and Tangibility. SoA refers to the speed at which companies adjust to their target capital structure, and the results indicate that companies in Indonesia have not yet reached an optimal capital structure target. Distance reflects the difference between the actual and target capital structure, while profitability reflects the financial performance of the company. Growth and Tangibility refer to company growth and the level of tangible assets that can be pledged as collateral. This study involved 717 companies listed on the BEI from 2020 to 2022, with 2020 as the estimation period and 2021-2022 as the research period. The One Sample t-test with a test value of 1 and multiple linear regression analysis with classical assumption testing were employed to examine the relationship between these variables and SoA. Each variable that has been used in this study shows that the speed of adjustment of capital structure in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange is not at the optimal target. Of the five hypotheses made, it turns out that only three hypotheses were accepted while the other two hypotheses were rejected.
Falentino Heydi Sanda, Erna Susilawati

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/528

This study examines the relationship between export commitment, dynamic capabilities, and export performance in the context of international business. The conceptual model presented depicts dynamic capabilities as a mediating variable between export commitment and export performance. The study employs a quantitative approach, using survey data collected from 195 respondents representing exporting firms with SEM PLS analysis. The analysis's findings show that export commitment significantly improves both export performance and dynamic capabilities. Export performance is positively impacted by dynamic capabilities as well, albeit this relationship is not very strong. These results imply that companies who are more committed to exporting typically have stronger dynamic capabilities and export performance. Nevertheless, the initial hypothesis regarding the mediating role of dynamic capacities in the link between export commitment and export performance is not supported. This research advances our knowledge of how companies can enhance their export performance through the development of export commitment and the fortification of dynamic skills. This study has significance for managers and policy makers who want to increase exporting enterprises' international competitiveness.
Samsul Arifin

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/532

The latest technology that must be applied to prepare for modernity is based on information technology. This technology is not only used by large companies (enterprises) but can also be utilized by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). One of the utilization of technology is cloud computing by Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which is increasingly widespread. This is reasonable because cloud computing technology provides benefits with a simpler process and relatively low costs. In line with this, this study aims to determine the factors that influence the adoption of cloud computing in MSMEs. An integrated model was developed based on the Technology, Organization, and Environment (TOE) framework. This research data was obtained through a structured survey questionnaire given to 150 MSME owners/managers in the Soloraya Region. The results obtained through SEM-PLS analysis show that factors such as organizational readiness and competitor pressure have a significant effect on cloud computing adoption in MSMEs in the Soloraya Region. However, factors of relative advantage, complexity, and top management support were found to have no significant effect on cloud computing adoption. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the expansion of the TOE Framework.
Laras Nganti Wani, Frank Aligarh

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/535

The problem of corruption is a common problem and continues to this day in Indonesia. The level of corruption that does not improve causes losses and inefficiency in the economy. The high level of corruption has been an obstacle to economic progress and growth in Indonesia so far. This research aims to find out more about the impact of worsening corruption on foreign investment, the Rupiah exchange rate against the dollar, and economic growth. This research uses secondary data obtained from the central statistics agency for 16 years. Research data processing uses PLS. Based on the research results, it was found that the level of corruption affects the level of foreign investment and the Rupiah exchange rate against the Dollar but not economic growth. This research also found that foreign investment can mediate the relationship between the level of corruption and economic growth. In this research, it was found that the higher the level of corruption, the more foreign capital will enter. This is because countries with high levels of corruption have poor administrative systems so that by using bribes the investment process can run more easily. The greater the foreign capital that enters, the greater the capital in economic activities so that economic growth will increase. This is certainly not a good thing the Indonesian government needs to improve the quality of its bureaucracy so that corrupt practices do not get worse
Widhi Ariestianti Rochdianingrum, Nanis Setyorini, Lailatul Amanah

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/536

This research seeks to assess how ambidexterity in exploration and exploitation mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Specifically, this study investigates the indirect influence of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance through the mediating roles of ambidexterity exploration and exploitation. A quantitative approach using structural equation modeling (SEM) is employed to examine the relationships among these variables. The research sample comprises 200 SMEs operating primarily in East Java, Indonesia. The findings demonstrate a significant mediating effect (p<0.05) of ambidexterity exploration and exploitation, which enhances the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance. This indirect effect proves to be stronger than the direct impact of entrepreneurial orientation itself. The structural model shows a high R-square value of 68.6%, indicating a strong predictive capability. Additionally, the goodness-of-fit index reflects high model suitability (0.543 > 0.36), and the predictive power of the PLS model is considered medium. The study’s results underscore the importance of fostering both ambidexterity in exploration and exploitation alongside entrepreneurial orientation to optimize SME performance.
Juwita Sari, Nur Laily, Hindah Mustika

In today's dynamic market landscape, complex changes are evident across various industries. Consumers now expect a positive shopping experience, viewing consumption activities as both personal fulfillment and social identity markers. To stay competitive, businesses must align their branding strategies accordingly. One strategic approach to enhancing brand appeal involves collaborating with brand ambassadors. Specifically, the allure of K-pop idols plays a substantial role in shaping brand images, thereby motivating consumers to make impulsive purchases. This study seeks to investigate the impact of brand ambassadors on impulse buying behaviors. Additionally, we aim to analyze the significance of perceived value in influencing these behaviors. Data collection utilized Google Forms, gathering responses from 160 Indonesian females between ages 17 and 40 who were familiar with the New Jeans music group and had recently purchased or used Levi’s collections. Our methodology includes processing the data using SMART-PLS 4.0 with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Our preliminary findings indicate that brand ambassadors significantly enhance impulse buying through increased perceived value and fear of missing out (FOMO). This research contributes valuable insights into consumer behavior under modern marketing strategies, emphasizing the importance of aligning branding efforts with evolving consumer expectations. By leveraging celebrity influences effectively, businesses can stimulate spontaneous retail activity, offering practical implications for marketers aiming to maximize customer engagement and loyalty. Ultimately, our analysis underscores the strategic potential of collaborating with influential figures like K-pop idols to boost sales within competitive markets.
Maria Isabel Clarisa, Lydia Ari Widyarini

https://ojsicobuss.stiesia.ac.id/index.php/icobuss1st/article/view/548

This study investigates the impact of various inhibiting factors on the intentions and overall satisfaction of Generation Z and Y virtual tourists engaging with WonderVerse Indonesia, a metaverse-based tourism platform. Using covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM), the research tests five hypotheses, focusing on how perceived complexity, cost, and technological and social threats influence user behavior. The findings reveal that perceived complexity, high costs, and concerns over technological and social threats significantly decrease users' intentions to engage with the platform. However, when users have stronger intentions to engage, their overall satisfaction with the virtual tourism experience increases significantly. These results provide key insights into the barriers hindering user adoption of metaverse tourism, particularly among younger generations. By identifying these factors, the study offers valuable guidance for managers, developers, and decision-makers in the metaverse tourism industry. It highlights the need to reduce perceived complexity and mitigate costs and perceived threats to enhance user engagement. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening user intentions to boost satisfaction. These insights are crucial for improving the design and marketing strategies of virtual tourism platforms like WonderVerse Indonesia to ensure their long-term success and relevance in the rapidly evolving digital tourism landscape.
Amron, Ali Mursid, Entot Suhartono
